Grove 3 Pavillion - To the Memory of Bob "Jinx" Mahr and to his imortal words "F - You We Have Guns Too"

Several summers ago, one hot and sultry night, oldies moaning in the background over the outdoor speakers, the 'Blast From The Past Everyone's Invited Grove Party' concept was conceived by two wistful grads over of a bottle of Johnny Walker Blue as they sat on a version of 'Pitty Pat's Porch' in the western suburbs of Chicago.
That warm summer night was reminiscent of the days of our youth when that cat and mouse game with authorities called 'A Grove Party' was in it's 'hay' day.
After several years of procrastination, pontification and philosophical discussion over many bottles of Johnny Walker, the time was deemed appropriate to set the plan in motion. Help to organize this event was solicited from former classmates and family members.
The 'dog days' of summer were decided to be the ideal time of year to set off the first 'Blast From The Past' Grove Party.
Most of us find ourselves in a phase of life where our children are out in the world and on their own. The daily grind of raising a family or building a career or business is mostly behind us; therefore, we believe it's time for all of us to come together again after all these years and make time for 'us', to re-live cherished memories of the past and rekindle old friendships in whatever form they bore, in the sweet days of our youth.
The 'Committee' extends a warm invitation to everyone who attended RB, young and old, past or present, and to all their friends and relations including those friends of RB who attended other schools in the area.
